Colibita - the hidden treasure of the Calimani Mountains
After a short, bumpy and dusty road, you start to get a glimpse of the lake. Then, when the entire sight is revealed, you experience that "wow!" feeling: who would have expected this? no photo can really capture it.
It is said that Colibita has the freshest, cleanest air in Romania. Before the artificial lake was created in the second half of the XXth century, at Colibita there was a thermal resort (around 1923) which slowly disappeared when the lake was created and the village moved.
Now things are starting to get animated again. The view is breathtaking, the air is indeed fresh, there is silence, nature and the clouds seem closer.
Mountains around invite anyone who wants to discover the sensation of walking through the woods, to inhale the distinct forest air filled with pine aroma, to walk those narrow paths where the sun glimpses timidly through the darkness of the trees.If you are lucky enough, you can even meat a deer who hurry back into the woods, looking a little surprised and bothered by your staring at it.
At the end of the day, tired by the climb or the swim or the walk, you can let your thoughts settle together with the sun that goes slowly down behind the mountain peaks, not before it displays a last splendor.
